The Procedures Of A Site Compaction With Expressions
The site compaction procedures are as follows
* British standard light (B.S.L)
- This test should be considered merly as a guide to compaction on site
- The optimum moisture content should not be specified, since climatic condition must be taken into account as well as the difficulties of controlling moisture content
Mathematical expression: Site volume of dry density / BSL Max dry density x 100%
- Relative compaction of 90% - 95% is commonly required but depend on the contract and plant used
- The soil is normally compacted in layer of 200 - 300mm and constant check is made to ensure compaction is sastisfactory.
